SUMMARY:Trail Maintenance at Towne Lake Volunteer Work Day
DESCRIPTION:Towne Lake Trail Maintenance Volunteer Day\n\n\nWhen: Saturday\, March 25th\, 2023 7:30 AM for orientation\, 8:00 AM to 11:00 AM \nPlease arrive 10 minutes before the start time to sign a waiver and meet the group. Individuals needing to earn service hours can have their records signed by a board member at the conclusion of the event. \nWhere: McKinney Recreation Center\, 2001 S Central Expy\, McKinney\, TX 75070 The trail begins at the lower end of the landscape East to the Recreation Center. Restrooms are available at the Recreation Center. \nWhat we will be doing: Using trimmers to clear the trail of overgrowth\, track pickup\, clean the picnic areas\, remove fallen debris on the trail. Tools available will include weed whacker\, backpack blower\, loppers\, etc. To use power tools\, please attend the Safety Orientation beginning at 7:30 AM. Click here to view the regulations. \nWhat to bring: Print the volunteer waiver and bring it with you. Participants under age 18 need to have a guardian or parent sign the form. You will also need to have your own work gloves. Bring bug spray\, sunscreen\, and water. Protective eyewear is recommended if you plan to be cutting branches or operating some of the cutting tools. If you bring your own tools\, please have them marked as such so we know they are yours. \n\nWhat do I wear: Long pants\, long sleeves\, face covering\, and closed toed shoes or boots.  Please dress appropriately for the weather. Please do not wear leggings or other thin material which is not protective on your body. \nThe McKinney Parks Foundation provides trail maintenance in this area for the enjoyment of the community. \n\nRSVP Below.
